Hyundai has been around us for a while now, majorly winning markets in the daily use, road legal vehicle segment. The brand has been repeatedly associated with good value and reliability, which is excellent, but somehow the cars always lacked a fun element. They introduced the N segment to fix the problem, now headed by the ex-BMW head, Albert Biermann. The freshly launched all-electric RM20e is one of the newest “N” cars.

Our new electrified RM20e pushes the proven RM platform forcefully into a new, environmentally-focused decade of the 21st century, stretching the performance envelope of electrification on normal road environments- said Albert Biermann, President & Head, Research & Development, Hyundai Motor Group

Hyundai Motor Company introduced the car at the Beijing International Automotive exhibition 2020. While the RM nomenclature refers to what they love calling the “Racing Midship” line, derived from the rear drive, midship powertrain configuration, the “N” in the vehicle comes from Hyundai’s oldest working RnD facility in Namyang, Korea, and their testing ground at Nurburgring, Germany.

Since the inception of the RM project, Hyundai has repeatedly delivered powerful vehicles like the RM14, RM15, and others. In 2019, they launched their first electric race car, developed for the eTCR electric touring racing series, in Frankfurt.

In what seems to be based on the 2019 “Veloster N,” the all-electric RM20e claims to produce 960Nm of torque and 596 kW of electric motor power. The vehicle is expected to blast the 0-100kph in less than three seconds while hitting the 0-200 mark at 9.88 seconds.

The all-electric RM20e also boasts of thrilling acceleration, symbiotic with electric motors. The company’s recent partnership with Croatia-based Rimac Automobili has accelerated Battery electric vehicles (BEV) and other Fuel cell prototypes.

Moving forward, Hyundai N not only increases drivers’ heartbeats per minute via powerful internal combustion engines, but also through the instantaneous torque and environmental sustainability of reliable electrified powertrains. RM20e proves that N driving excitement will not be compromised, even in electrified model variants – said Thomas Schemera, Executive VP & Head of Hyundai Motor Group’s Product Division

Hyundai’s high-performance N series was developed to participate in one of the most challenging competitions, the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC). Based out of Alzenau, Germany, the company wanted to develop a long term, reliable and sporty brand that wins competitions and could be refined to achieve ever-increasing perfection.

The high-performance vehicles are repeatedly tested at Nurburgring Nordschleife, home to one of the most enduring and famous racetracks. The N in the logo derives from the infamous Nurburgring Schikane, one of the most challenging racetrack segments.

Hyundai’s all-electric RM20e comes with power and torque, mighty enough to get you cuffed up in your seat. As the company forays into different arenas, motorsport enthusiast and sustainability advocates relate a sense of achievement amidst burgeoning hopes on Hyundai and their engineering teams.

hold for me by Google

Hold for Me, an AI secretary is introduced by Google in the United States for users of Google’s Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a phones. It entails Google’s AI devices taking control of as an automated assistant when on hold to a phone call center, leaving the individual free to put down the phone and continue with their lives.

The new service will pay attention when the phone call is picked up and notify the users when it’s time for them to return on the phone. Meanwhile, Google’s assistant will ask the phone call center to hold, barring them from hanging up the phone call in case of no response.

Hold for Me is powered by Google’s Duplex technology, which not only recognizes hold music but also understands the difference between a recorded message (like’ Hello, thank you for waiting’) and a representative on the line. – said Google’s Andrew Goodman and Joseph Cherukara

The new feature has some constraints too. The first rollout is very restricted only to the Pixel 5 phone, which has a noted manufacturing run of only 800,000 devices. Google has not yet introduced any strategies to release the feature on various other devices. Besides, it just operates in the United States with toll-free numbers.

At the heart of the attribute is Google‘s Duplex, the occasional innovation solution that the firm has utilized to boost telephone-based automation.

Released in 2018, Duplex enables Google customers to schedule an appointment and arrange reservations in dining establishments instantly, with the AI aide making the telephone call.

When it was revealed, the voice synthesis was so natural, also presenting “err” as well as “mmm-hmm” to load spaces in between words that some criticized it as “sly.” Within a week of the launch, Google guaranteed that the software program would determine itself as robotic when calling services.

Google has been a leader in the field of AI and machine learning for nearly a decade. It has successfully adapted the new form of technology for its users. With the hold for me feature, the company focuses on providing innovative and comfortable solutions to its users in the United States.

With the coronavirus spreading rapidly, several biotech companies have been at work for months to develop a vaccine that would slow down and even put an end to the pandemic and its effects. A St. Louis based biotech startup, Precision Virologics, which is known for developing adenovirus-based vaccines, and India-based vaccine manufacturing giant Bharat Biotech, have obtained rights from the Washington University School of Medicine to develop a single dose intranasal COVID-19 vaccine. While Precision Virologics license is limited to the USA, Europe, and Japan, Bharat Biotech’s license encompasses the rest of the global markets.

The ability to accomplish effective immunization with a single nasal dose is a major advantage, offering broader reach and easier administration. An effective nasal dose not only protects against COVID-19, but it also prevents the spread of the disease by directly targeting the cells that line the nose and throat. – said David T. Curiel, Interim CEO, Precision Virologics

The vaccine, having already been tested on mice, has shown a high success rate. It is proving its ability to provide complete protection in just one dose. The results have so far shown one dose of the vaccine administered intranasally blocks the virus at the very site of the infection and clears up the upper and lower airways off the virus completely.

The first phase of this vaccine will take place in Washington’s University‘s Vaccine Treatment Evaluation Unit. Taking on from this lead, Bharat Biotech has planned to carry forward Phase 2 of the clinical trials in India once they have received regulatory approvals. They have further committed to manufacturing the vaccine on a large scale at their GMP facility in Genome Valley, Bangalore.

To add to this is Bharat Biotech’s own homegrown vaccine. They have been working on the COVID-19 vaccine, named COVAXIN. With plans to begin their third stage of clinical trials next month, COVAXIN has proven effective in the first two phases. Bharat Biotech hopes to test the vaccine on at least 25,000 people.

Our experience in viral vaccines, manufacturing capabilities, and distribution continue to be our strong suit in ensuring safe, efficacious, and affordable vaccines. It is prudent for Bharat to be involved in diverse but tenable projects to provide a much-needed vaccine against COVID-19 reaches all citizens of the world. – said Dr. Krishna Ella, Chairman & MD, Bharat Biotech

In addition to aiming directly at finding a cure for the coronavirus, developing an intranasal administration form of the vaccine also aids the vision to be able to provide a more cost-effective solution overall. With the use of an intranasal vaccine, the need for medical supplies such as needles and syringes can be reduced and/or even eliminated. They have worked at creating a vaccine that is easy to administer and reduces the use of medical consumables, the overall cost, and is effective in its treatment.

Since the pandemic breakout, several biotech companies have worked tirelessly to find a solution to the virus. With a few vaccinations seeing higher success rates and crossing different clinical trial levels, the hope for a quick and effective solution is swiftly becoming a reality. With licensing agreements such as this one, clinical development is taking place more smoothly and rapidly. With Precision Virologics and Bharat Biotech working on the new vaccine, the hope and probability of successful clinical trials, quick production, and distribution in markets are higher and almost impossible to overlook.
